During a spring service call, I noticed inconsistent airflow across zones. Did a full inspection of the duct system and found two sections of unsealed flex connections in the attic. Sealed all joints with mastic, reinforced with zip ties, and rechecked airflow with a manometer. The customer had been noticing hot spots—this should correct it.

Installed a new variable-speed heat pump today, replacing a 13 SEER unit that had multiple compressor lockouts. We upgraded the thermostat to a smart model and adjusted the duct transitions to better fit the new air handler. Final static pressure reading was slightly high, so I’ll recommend a return duct modification on the follow-up.

Upon arrival furnace was flashing 3 times indicating it was off on a limit switch code. Checked the limit switch and it was good. Checked the air filter and found it was plugged. With a plugged air filter the heat exchanger of the furnace could not fully cool down causing it to fail with the limit switch code. Replaced the air filter with a customer supplied air filter. Cycled power to the unit to clear the code and started the unit. Unit is now working properly

Burner was off on reset when arrived. Checked the oil flow, it was clean and strong. Turned the water heater on with the boiler running and there was no change in flow. Checked the nozzle assembly, there was a small dark spot on the tip of the nozzle, which indicates that the nozzle is not spraying correctly. Replaced the nozzle. Started and tested

Performed a heating pm on (2)gas furnaces. Cleaned the flame sensors, checked the gas pressures. Checked the heat exchangers. Blew out the condensate drains. Replaced the air filter with a customer supplied filter for the main house. The filter for the addition needs to be replaced. That is a 5” filter. Started and checked the safeties. Performed a combustion test. System is operating properly. Recommend replacing the neutralizer stones in the condensate pump for the addition furnace.

System was running when I arrived. When burner turned on, checked the oil flow. And transformer. The transformer, and is starting to show yellow on the arc, which can cause intermittent resets. Checked the nozzle assembly. There was no oil in the blast tube, adjusted the electrodes. Cycled several times. Adjusted the aquastat from 160° to 180°. Also noticed that the oil line coming up through the floor where the boiler is kinked. Recommend replacing oil line. Recommend replacing the transformer. Replaced the transformer. Started and tested.

Upon arrival unit was on and running. Customer stated they had an oil delivery recently. Checked oil flow and had ok flow. Checked the oil filter and strainer and found the filter was good but the strainer was covered in sludge. Replaced the oil strainer. Checked the nozzle and found carbon buildup on the tip and some oil in the blast tube indicating the nozzle went bad, most likely from some sludge getting in it. Replaced the nozzle and bled the oil line. Started and tested the unit. Unit is working properly

Brushed and vacuumed flue pipe and heat exchanger Replaced oil filter, nozzle, and strainer Checked all electrical connections and safeties Performed combustion and smoke tests 6.8%o2 33ppm co 0 smoke While performing the maintenance we found a hi-vent leaking on the boiler. After getting customer authorization we replaced the hi-vent. Unit is working properly. Boiler pressure when leaving was 20 psi We found the indirect water heater’s pressure relief is dripping slightly. The tank is from 2007. Took pictures to offer a replacement quote. Typically the tanks lasts 10-15 years.
